Did you know that Kanye West is "constantly worried" Kim Kardashian and North will be kidnapped, according to his step-brother. Hilarious.....
The hip-hop star is married to the reality TV queen and they are parents to 17-month-old daughter North. There have been rumours about the great lengths Kanye takes to keep his family safe, with his step-brother Hal Carmichael now opening up about them.
"Kanye constantly worries about Kim and North because he knows the kidnap risk is high. Because of the lifestyle they lead, he had to think about it carefully nowadays," he told British magazine Heat. "Kanye controls Kim, like where she travels and what she does, to protect her. He thinks the more the public see of them, the more at risk they are. "
Part of the reason Kanye is so careful about his family is thought to be the death of his mother. Donda passed away in 2007 from complications linked to plastic surgery, and Kanye has previously said he blames himself because if it wasn't for him Donda wouldn't have moved to Los Angeles and felt pressured to change herself.
Although the rapper worries about his family, he also wants to keep pushing so they are one of the most famous in the world.
"Kanye and Kim want to be the next big power couple and that comes from exposure," Hal said. "Kim being on television is a compromise, but Kanye knows that's her career and he'll support her. But Kanye keeps his inner circle tight - with North, she'll only be looked after by Kris [Jenner, Kim's mom] or her aunties. They have the nanny as well, but North is kept around family. Kanye does this to protect her."
Hal's mother is married to Kanye's father and the pair get along very well, with Hal seen backstage at Kanye's gigs in the past.
Hal explained that Kanye has CCTV and panic alarms at all his homes because there are so many "weirdos" around. It also means he takes extreme steps like moving his loved ones around in armoured cars - something which was reported when Kim was left shaken after she was almost knocked over by prankster Vitalii Sediuk at Paris Fashion Week in September.
"I don't think they've had direct threats, but Kanye makes sure he is prepared," Hal said. "They always have two security guards with them. Even when he went to our sister's last month, he took them with him, and they drive around in armoured cars. Using decoys is something Kanye would do, especially with how much attention they get when they travel."
